Conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, some versions of Parkinson's Disease, and Alzheimer's do respond to HBOT. There will be some improvement in symptoms, depending on how advanced the condition is. The earlier in the course of the illness that treatment is started, the better the results.

These conditions are progressive and are not cured by HBOT, in that they will continue to progress.

 

Maintenance HBOT—perhaps 1-2 dives per week—can slow and possibly stop progression of some of these illnesses. There is a lot of experience with Multiple Sclerosis, and in some proportion of cases maintenance HBOT seems to stop progression indefinitely.
